Dolphin Gites in Vendee is a beautiful child
friendly gites complex located in the Vendee department 85, on the West coast of
France. The gites are ideally located in the coastal village of La Chaize-Giraud,
in the North of Vendee, only 5 minutes from
the attractive seaside town of Brétignolles-sur-Mer. The accommodation
comprises of six individual character cottages (gites) situated in the same grounds all
with local access to a beautiful heated in-ground swimming pool.
We
are situated 12 miles North of the famous Vendee resort of Les Sables d`Olonne.
The local beaches at Bretignolles-sur-mer beach are only a 5 minute drive in the car or 10 minutes by bicycle.
If you prefer, you may spend the day sunbathing or swimming in the pool.
On-site facilities include wifi zone, table-tennis, swings and large
gardens and lawns.
You
can choose from six self-catering gites (cottages) all of a different character catering for
different requirements. Our largest gîte (country cottage) can
accommodate up to 8 people and is ideal for a large family or two
families sharing. The
grounds include the ancient walled garden built by the Monks,
landscaped lawns and borders, an orchard and a heated swimming
pool with views on the valley - all situated in the shadow of
a beautiful 12th century church. Our gite complex is family
friendly and it is very likely that you children with have other
children to play with during your stay.
Our
smallest gîte (gite 3) has just one bedroom and is ideal for
a couple or a small family. The remaining 3 gites will
accommodate families of 5 or 6 people. All our gîtes are well
maintained and have modern facilities.
Gites
5 and 6 have been recently renovated and have exposed oak
beams retaining the character and old world charm, whilst offering
modern conveniences such as dishwasher and washing machine.
Gite 6 (pictured above) has wired Internet connection
and fabulous views on the gardens. Gite 5 has 2 good sized
bedrooms, washing machine and dishwasher.
On
site, we have a covered table tennis area and children's play
area. Also, the large lawns throughout the gardens are perfect
for all types of ball games.
One
evening every week, we invite all guests to come along to a
very informal drinks evening to give everyone staying at
Dolphin Gites the chance to meet and share ideas.
The
drinks evening is entirely optional.

LOCAL
VISITS
The
local Vendee beaches are a 5 minute's drive and are excellent.
There are superb beaches all along the Vendee coast, all
monitored by the CRS who perform lifeguard duty in the summer
months. However, if you
fancy a change from sunbathing or swimming, then there are
things to do in the Vendée.
There
are many exciting places to visit in the local area. There are
great beaches only a few minutes away, fabulous restaurants and wonderful
attractions such as the Puy du Fou - a nationally famous
spectacular show, only 1 hour's drive from Dolphin Gites.
We
would recommend a visit to the attractive town of Apremont,
famous for its Chateau and river beach. Also, a visit to the
island of Noirmoutier and the famous causeway known as the
Passage du Gois.
There
are some wonderful walks in the local area. If you enjoy
rambling then you will really enjoy walking around the beautiful
Jaunay lake. The scenery is amazing and the walk is about 8
miles through delightful wooded countryside with views on the
lake.
